Sydney’s Leaders farewell 2012 and Welcome in 2013
The City of Sydney’s new Local Area Plan (LEP) was nominated by Lord Mayor Clover Moore as a 2012 highlight, along with new LED street lighting, the installation of solar power on Council buildings, planting thousands of trees, aesthetic improvements to Chinatown and opening the historic Gardener’s Lodge in Victoria Park as a café. NSW government Lifts Freeze on New Liquor Licenses for the southern part of the Sydney CBD, an area that spans from Town Hall to Haymarket. This means that new hotels, bars and clubs can open in the area, and that owners of existing venues can apply to increase their capacity and trading hours.
