Soul of Chinatown recently launched Haymarket’s first ever comedy club – the Chinatown Comedy Club – on 21 June 2023 at the Covent Garden Hotel. The inaugural sold-out event saw seven Asian-Australian comedians perform in front of more than 50 people at the historic venue.
Soul of Chinatown has also been successful in securing a City of Sydney grant that will allow the group to host more Chinatown Comedy Club events over the next 12 months. The next event is being planned for around Moon Festival in late September 2023.
The Chamber congratulates Soul of Chinatown for this initiative which adds a further reason to the list of many for one to visit Haymarket.
