HCC New President Simon Chan

The Haymarket Chamber of Commerce (HCC) is proud to announce the newly elected President Simon Chan following the Chamber’s Annual General Meeting on 22 July 2014.

 

Simon Chan is a former HCC Past Vice President, HCC Secretary and is a long-standing and committed Executive Committee member of the Chamber. HCC’s immediate Vice President Brad Chan said, “Under Simon’s leadership I feel confident that the Chamber will continue its ongoing growth and establishment towards becoming one of the country’s leading Chambers for local and Asian businesses.”

 

 

As the director of SCA Architects, practising architecture for 35 years and a long standing art collector for 30 years, Simon’s long-standing interest in art led to the establishment of the contemporary Australian and Aboriginal art gallery,  Art Atrium, in 2009.  During this time Simon has provided invaluable support and holds official positions for not for profit and community organisations, these includie Vice President and Life Member of the Australian Chinese Community Association (ACCA), Community Ambassador for the Art Gallery of NSW, founder / director of the contemporary Australian and Aboriginal art gallery, Art Atrium and Committee Member for Woollahra Council Public Art Advisory Committee. In 2013, Simon was also the recipient of the NSW Premier’s Multicultural Award for Arts & Culture.
