HCC Co-Founder George Wing Kee Report

Marking our 10th year as the Haymarket Chamber of Commerce, it must be said it has been a year of significant achievements.  Our growth has been driven by the drive and passion of our committee and members with the voluntary efforts of those who work tirelessly all year round.  From our President Simon to our charismatic Executive Officer, Karen are owed our debt of thanks for their absolute dedication to the aims of the Chamber.

As our position in recruiting new HCC members, Peter and I are happy to report member numbers are increasing , with many companies continuing to join HCC.  Even so we still need to work with local business owners to support our efforts to make Chinatown more prosperous.

I am happy to report our Chinatown Historical Tours are one of the most popular tours in Sydney with tour groups from schools, probus, overseas students, and community bookings, with up to 50 each group.  A recent article in Sydney’s Central News highlighted our tour attractions and created widespread comment.

Our tours not only reveal the curious sides of our culture but bring business to the shops, restaurants but also an awareness of CHINATOWN’ hidden secrets.

Our CHINATOWN SYDNEY APP, is the only App covering history, culture and traditions of the Chinese ,with impending new applications to upgrade its usage.

Finally I would commend those loyal members who always attend our networks
