As one of Sydney’s most exciting nights to celebrate Chinese New Year (CNY), Haymarket Chamber of Commerce’s (HCC) CNY banquet last Friday attracted over three hundred Chamber members, businesses, artists, community leaders and featured Dr Charlie Teo AM, The Hon. Concetta Fierravanti-Wells,The Hon. Victor Dominello and Deputy Lord Mayor Kerryn Phelps and many more as the event’s official VIP guests.
Following this event’s successful launch last year; featuring the Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Lucy Turnbull, the HCC CNY event was a special evening embodying the CNY celebration of Chinese culture, music, food and spirit whilst also raising funds for the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, founded by Dr Charlie Teo AM.
With energetic Lion Dancers, one of Sydney’s only Chinese jazz singers and traditional Chinese dance performances during the12 course banquet extravaganza, the event welcomed many VIP guests with; Alex Greenwich MP, City of Sydney Councillor Robert Kok, Councillor Craig Chung, Councillor Jess Scully, Councillor Jess Miller, Councillor Philp Thallis, Councillor Linda Scott and Councillor Angela Vithoulkas with Edmund Capon AM, OBE.
The event also celebrated the launch of HCC’s very popular annual Haymarket Live Work Play Guide 2017 featuring the unique flavors of Haymarket’s places, people and character of this most culturally diverse precinct. Read it online HERE.
