The Executive Committee of the Chamber was delighted to host members and guests at its annual Chinese New Year Banquet held at The Eight restaurant in Market City on 26 February 2021, this year to usher in the Year of the Ox. There were 320 attendees at the celebratory dinner including our guests of honour NSW Premier The Hon. Gladys Berejiklian MP, Federal Member for Reid Dr Fiona Martin MP (representing The Hon Alex Hawke MP, Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs), Federal Member for Sydney The Hon. Tanya Plibersek MP, NSW Opposition Leader Jodi McKay MP, NSW Minister The Hon. Victor Dominello MP, City of Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore, Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Frank van Beuningen, State Member for Sydney Alex Greenwich MP, State Member for Newtown Jenny Leong MP, City of Sydney Councillors Craig Chung, Robert Kok and Philip Thalis, 1996 Australian of the Year Dr John Yu AC, Chair of Multicultural NSW Advisory Committee Dr Hari Harineth OAM, and the Australian Human Rights Commission’s Race Discrimination Commissioner, Chin Tan.
