Art, Business, and Innovation: Reflections from Sculpture by the Sea
Attending the opening of Sculpture by the Sea at Bondi Beach as a guest of the Haymarket Chamber of Commerce (HCC) was a reminder of the transformative role of public art. HCC, a progressive business network representing many businesses, entrepreneurs and residents in Haymarket and Sydney CBD, plays a vital role in promoting both economic growth and cultural engagement in Sydney’s vibrant Haymarket precinct. Sculpture by the Sea reflects the same values: uniting community and business while fostering creative expression and connection on a global stage.
This year’s Sculpture by the Sea transformed Bondi’s coastal walk into a 2km open-air gallery with 100 sculptures by artists from around the world. As the world’s largest free-to-the-public sculpture exhibition, it embodies the power of art to bring people together, create shared experiences, and foster dialogue between cultures. Public art initiatives inspire long-term progress and cross-sector collaboration.
