New City of Sydney Council proclaimed on 10 October 2024

Following the NSW Local Government elections held on 14 September 2024, a new City of Sydney Council was proclaimed at Town Hall on Thursday, 10 October 2024.

We would like to congratulate Lord Mayor Clover Moore AO on her successful re-election as Lord Mayor of Sydney for a sixth consecutive term and all nine Councillors on their success in a contest involving 49 candidates.

At the first Council meeting on 10 October 2024, Councillor Zann Maxwell was also elected Deputy Lord Mayor.

The new Council is comprised of the following:

  1. Lord Mayor Clover Moore AO (Clover Moore Independent Team – CMIT)
  2. Deputy Lord Mayor Zann Maxwell (ALP)
  3. Cr Sylvie Ellsmore (GRN)
  4. Cr Lyndon Gannon (LIB)
  5. Cr Robert Kok (CMIT)
  6. Cr Jess Miller (CMIT)
  7. Cr Matthew Thompson (GRN)
  8. Cr Yvonne Weldon (YWI)
  9. Cr Mitch Wilson (ALP)
  10. Cr Adam Worling (CMIT)

We extend our best wishes to the Lord Mayor, the new Deputy Lord Mayor and all Councillors, and look forward to working closely with all of them in this new term over the next 4 years in the best interests of our City, our Haymarket and Chinatown precinct in particular in relation to the revitalisation of the area, and our Chamber and its members.   Photo: City of Sydney
