The Haymarket Alliance (of which the Haymarket Chamber of Commerce is a founding member along with Haymarket HQ, Community Bank Darling Square, Soul of Chinatown and Revelism) officially launched the Haymarket Community Improvement District (CID) pilot last week, with NSW Minister the Hon John Graham MLC in attendance. Minister Graham is Special Minister of State, Minister for Roads, Minister for the Arts, Minister for Music and the Night-time Economy, and Minister for Jobs and Tourism.
Held at Haymarket HQ, the launch was attended by the wider Haymarket and Chinatown community, including community members, property owners, businesses, government, and other local organisations.
Kevin Cheng from the Haymarket Alliance presented the vision for the Haymarket Community Improvement District Pilot for the next 12 months, including plans to host Neon Playground 2.0 – the largest Asian-Australian creative and cultural festival in Sydney.
Minister Graham was then joined by Haymarket Alliance president Brad Chan and New Sydney Waterfront Co’s Business Improvement District director Rachael Smith for a panel discussion about improvement districts and the opportunities for Haymarket.
