Invitation to HCC’s 2026-2027 Federal Budget Panel Discussion and Networking Evening, Wednesday 20 May 2026

April 20, 2026

Haymarket Chamber of Commerce cordially invites you to our 2026-2027 Federal Budget Panel Discussion and Networking Evening on Wednesday, 20 May 2026, at the Novotel Sydney Darling Square in Haymarket.

On Tuesday 12 May 2026, Federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers will be delivering the nation’s 2026-2027 Budget. This is likely to be one of the most important budgets in decades not least because of the impact of current global events and the many economic challenges that they present. Significant reforms to our tax system are also expected including changes to the capital gains tax rules and possibly, in relation to negative gearing.

We are fortunate that, within our Chamber, we have several experts who will be able to help us unpack the Budget papers and to summarise it all for us.

So come join us for our 2026-2027 Federal Budget Panel Discussion and Networking Evening at the Novotel Sydney Darling Square on Wednesday 20 May 2026 from 6 pm to 8.30 pm.

Our expert panel will consist of:

1: Simon Alford, Business Advisory and Tax Partner at BYRONS;

2: Devika Shivadekar, Economist at RSM Australia; and

3: Raffi Tenanbaum, Tax Partner at William Buck.

The panel moderator will be our Haymarket Chamber of Commerce president, Vincent Lim.
